I've been playing roots/folk/blues music on the Leeds grassroots music scene for over a decade. In addition to teaching blues harmonica I perform both solo, and as half of acoustic blues duo The High Hollers.
I play fingerpicking guitar in the American folk/blues tradition.
A songster in the tradition of Mississippi John Hurt, Mance Libscome, Rev. Gary Davis etc, I play a variety of traditional and gospel tunes, as well as early country songs from the likes of Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams. I have an expressive vocal style providing a unique perspective on classic songs.
Also an expert harmonica player, I pepper my sets with haunting solo pieces derived from traditional material.

I travelled to California to study with master blues harmonica player and teacher David Barrett. I'm accredited by him to teach using his methods and materials. I do 1-1 sessions either in person or via Skype/Zoom.
For more information on harmonica tuition please see www.leedsharmonica.uk where there is also a regularly updated harmonica blog. Blues harmonica instruction videos are available on my YouTube channel.
Since 2009 this guitar and harmonica duo have been playing traditional American music all over West Yorkshire. They have an ecclectic repertoire running the gamut of blues, folk, country, rockabilly, jugband and more. For more information see The High Hollers website.
Gigs cancelled due to Covid.
